Getting married is very stressful, my now wife and i wanted it all, and
to be honest, she changed her mind everyday, sometimes every hour, during
the long winded planning stage.
Like most guys, i was happy to let the plans roll on, and on and on.
Mothering law was a great help and took much of the pressure away from me,
but she wasn't there to help at 3.00 am to deal with the tears and changes
to the once cast in stone plans.
After 18 months in the planning, i am very happy to report we are now
exceptionally happily married.
We purchased a new laptop for the planning process, i know extreme! Well
the real story goes, we needed a new laptop, i bought one, she commandeered
it for wedding use only..... I have the laptop back now in spite of it being
2 years old it still works ok.
The pure weight of information that had been collected was phenomenal. We
went from a wedding in Barbados to Nice to Seychelles and Gretna green, but
settled on a modest village church wedding.
We went from a 5 start hotel for the wedding reception venue, to a beach
venue, a castle, a country house and much more besides.
We looked at bands from U2 to the wurzals and settled on a Disco and so
the list goes on.
At one point i thought we were going to be married in fancy dress, in a
castle on a beach, with handmade wedding invitations and diy flower
arrangements.
Trust me, getting married is hell!
Anyway we flicked back through some of these sites, and giggled out loud
at just how ridiculous some of our (her) ideas were and how nice it would
have been if only we could have afforded to have had our dream day wedding.
But in hindsight it actually was.
So we thought we would share some of our whacky ideas and hope it will
fast track you to some of your ideas.
Good luck, thanks for visiting and we wish you the best of luck! Hope
your wedding planning goes well.
