If you and your boyfriend have decided to spend the rest of your lives
together it all starts with getting engaged.
Once you have got engaged you will probably want to set a date for your
wedding.
Your wedding day is something you will remember forever so for everything to
run smoothly and as planned its best to give yourself a good amount of time to
plan and prepare for your big day.
After all you’re only going to do it once.
The times of year you wish to get married in is a good place to start. Do you
want a summer
wedding with all the trimmings or do you wish to have a
winter
wedding.
A summer wedding is usually the more popular choice so if you have a specific
venue in mind for your wedding you may have to book it quite a way in advance.
You must set yourself a wedding budget as costs mount up very quickly and all
too soon you will be over budget if you are not careful.
It is a good idea to sit down with your fiancé and work out exactly how much
you have to spend on your dream day. Do not commit to anything until you are
both satisfied with your choices.
Then you need to decide if you’re going to have a
registry
office wedding or a
church wedding
or if you are going to have it in
another
licensed venue.
If you choose to have it in the gardens of the same place as you’re reception
then you will save a little on transport as you do not need a car to take you
from one venue to another.
You should also consider your guests up to a certain point when choosing your
venue as ifs it’s too far away you may find people unable to come and enjoy your
special day with you.
Your guest list will really consist of two separate
lists. One of the guests you wish to be with you at the ceremony and then
another list for evening guests. You should also decide on whether you wish to
have a huge amount of guests or whether you would prefer a smaller more intimate
day.
You should really think about choosing your invites and posting them about
six months prior to your wedding so as your guests can then make any
arrangements that they need to.
The time of year in which you choose to have your wedding will probably also
have a factor on which type of
wedding dress
you go for. It may take you quite a while to find the dress of your dreams so it
is best to start looking early on.
Your wedding day is a day you will remember forever more and there is an
awful lot of planning to do to get it just as you want it.
Once you have booked your church your evening venue your cars and your
photographer
then you need to plan all the little things that make the day extra special.
Things like bridesmaids pageboys ushers and of course the best man.
A cake and flowers should also be carefully planned as it all needs to come
together at the end to make it a day to remember and be unique to you and your
fiancé.
